Authorisations for technical data and defense services – US ITAR and EAR - Export Control and Data Security

US ITAR and EAR - Export Control and Data Security ITAR 125.4(b)(4)-(5) and EAR 740.13(a), (g): Use the copies, revisions and operation-and-maintenance authorisations within their scope

Copies of technical data previously authorised to the same recipient, and editorial revisions that add nothing to the content for the identical article, may be exported without a new licence (125.4(b)(4)); basic operation, maintenance and training information for an article lawfully exported to the same recipient is exempt, but intermediate or depot-level repair and maintenance data needs a licence or agreement (125.4(b)(5)). License Exception TSU allows copies and editorial revisions of technology previously authorised to the same recipient where the item is identical and there is no reason to believe the earlier authorisation was breached (740.13(g)), and the minimum operation technology for lawfully exported items but not development or production technology (740.13(a)).
