US FDA Food Labeling Regulations (21 CFR Part 101)
Subpart A: General provisions (principal display panel, information panel, identity, ingredients, name and place of business, nutrition labeling, warnings, misbranding) – US FDA Food Labeling Regulations (21 CFR Part 101)

US FDA Food Labeling Regulations (21 CFR Part 101) 101.9-FORMAT: Nutrition Facts format: the standard, tabular, linear, dual-column and aggregate formats, type sizes, the calories prominence, footnote, and the single-serving and multi-serving container rules (101.9(d) to (f))

What does 101.9-FORMAT require?

The Nutrition Facts panel must follow the 101.9(d) graphic specifications: a box with hairlines, the heading 'Nutrition Facts' in the largest type, serving size and servings per container, calories in prominent large bold type, the nutrient listing in the prescribed order and indentation with the percent Daily Value column, the footnote on the 2,000 calorie basis, and the type sizes (generally 8 point for nutrients, 6 point for the footnote, with the required larger sizes for calories and serving information). Alternative formats apply to intermediate-sized packages (tabular), small packages (linear), foods with dual declarations (as packaged and as prepared, or per serving and per container for packages containing two to three servings), and assortments (aggregate display). Containers with less than 200 percent of the reference amount are labeled as one serving; those between 200 and 300 percent carry the dual-column declaration.
