UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI P3: paras 28 to 30 Fairness and non-discrimination: share benefits inclusively, minimise bias, provide effective remedy and close digital divides

Everyone involved with AI should advance social justice and avoid discrimination, making benefits accessible to all with attention to age, culture, language, disability, girls and women and vulnerable people, and Member States should promote inclusive access, multilingual local content and rural and urban equity, while advanced countries show solidarity with the least advanced. AI actors should do what they reasonably can to avoid reinforcing discriminatory or biased outcomes, effective remedy should exist against algorithmic discrimination, and digital and knowledge divides should be addressed.
