UNECE WP.29 R156 7.1.1.7: Identify target vehicles for a software update

What does 7.1.1.7 require?

A process whereby the manufacturer is able to identify target vehicles for a software update; the Interpretation Document means individual vehicles (VIN-based for registered vehicles), stepping from target groups (for example all diesel vehicles of a type) down to individual vehicles, with measures to reduce identification errors (ISO 24089 8.3.1.1, 9.3.2.2).
