A process to assess, identify and record whether an update adds, alters or enables functions not present or not enabled at type approval, or alters or disables other parameters or functions defined in legislation, considering whether (a) information package entries must change, (b) test results no longer cover the vehicle and (c) any function change affects the vehicle's type approval. The Interpretation Document limits this to type approved systems, with parameters meaning approval parameters and the information package meaning the affected approval's information document.
