UK Land Registration Act 2002 66-70: Open register: inspection, official copies, index, historical information and official searches

What does 66-70 require?

Any person may inspect and copy the register of title, documents referred to in it, documents relating to applications and the cautions register, subject to the exceptions and conditions the rules provide (section 66, with exempt information documents under the rules). Official copies are admissible in evidence to the same extent as the original and a person relying on an official copy containing a mistake is not liable for loss, with the registrar's indemnity applying (section 67). The registrar keeps an index (section 68), provides historical information (section 69) and the rules provide for official searches, including priority searches of pending first registration applications (section 70).
