UK Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 (CQC Fundamental Standards) 15: Keep all premises and equipment clean, secure, suitable, properly used, properly maintained and appropriately located, and maintain appropriate standards of hygiene

What does 15 require?

All premises and equipment used by the service provider must be clean, secure, suitable for the purpose for which they are being used, properly used, properly maintained and appropriately located for that purpose, and the registered person must maintain standards of hygiene appropriate to the purposes for which they are used. Equipment at a service user's own accommodation that is neither provided as part of care nor supplied by the provider is excluded from the security, suitability, maintenance and location requirements.
