UK Concordat on Open Research Data (UKRI) P3: Respecting the costs of open data

What does P3 require?

The capital and recurrent costs of open data (infrastructure, specialist and support staff, training, researchers' time, reviews of progress) are considered, proportionate to real benefits and balanced against the research portfolio; appropriate costs are met through dual support and funders that require open data do so consistently with available cost recovery, while all seek efficiency (Principle 3).
