UK AI Regulation Framework P5: Principle 5: Contestability and redress (non-statutory, applied by regulators)

Where appropriate, users, affected third parties and life cycle actors should have a way to challenge an AI-driven decision or result that causes harm or a material risk of it; regulators are to clarify existing routes to contest and seek redress and encourage regulated entities to make clear, accessible routes (including informal ones) available, recognising that transparency and explainability underpin this. The non-statutory approach creates no new rights or routes to redress.
