The responsibility and methods for tracing product are documented and implemented so each finished product can be followed a minimum of one step on to its customer and one step back to the supplier of what went into it, the date each input (food-contact packaging, raw materials, ingredients and others) arrived is recorded (with allergen traceback under 2.8.1.8), traceability holds through rework, and the trace system's effectiveness is reviewed at least annually within the recall review of 2.6.3.2; records of material receipt and use and of product dispatch and destination are kept (2.6.2.1).
