SQF Code Edition 9 - Safe Quality Food 2.6.1: Product Identification (Mandatory)

What does 2.6.1 require?

The site documents and implements how everything it handles (inputs such as raw materials, ingredients, packaging and process inputs, part-processed product and finished goods) stays clearly identified from goods-in through production and storage to dispatch, and who is responsible, and finished product is labelled to customer specification and regulatory requirements (2.6.1.1). Written procedures for starting a run and for changing product, packaging or labels make sure the right product goes into the right pack under the right label, and an authorised person checks and signs off each changeover; label use is reconciled and discrepancies investigated and resolved, with changeover and reconciliation records kept (2.6.1.2).
