South Africa Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA)
Part 3: access to records of private bodies – South Africa Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA)

South Africa Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) s52: s.52; reg. 5 If records are made automatically available, describe them and file the description with the Regulator

What does s52 require?

A private body may voluntarily describe the categories of its records that are automatically available without a request (under other laws, for purchase or copying, or free) and how to obtain them. If it compiles such a description it must keep it updated and make it available to the Regulator, on its website and at its registered head office, may charge only the prescribed reproduction fee, and may delete refusable parts; records in the description fall outside the formal request procedure.
