Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003 24-25: Identity evidence furnished and attendance for examination

What does 24-25 require?

A person whom an officer reasonably believes committed an unfair practice, or knowingly helped a supplier commit one, must on request furnish evidence establishing their identity and, for individuals, nationality and residential address. Any person within Singapore who appears acquainted with the facts must comply with a written notice to attend before an investigation officer and may be examined orally, before or after proceedings; the statement is reduced to writing, read over, interpreted where needed and signed. A person is not excused from disclosure because it may incriminate them, though a claimed self-incriminating disclosure is not admissible against them in criminal proceedings other than Part 3B offences; legal professional privilege is preserved (section 26).
