The facility publishes and uses appropriate channels to communicate OSH matters at every level and discipline: post or email newsletters on safety news, training and updates and a suggestions mailbox or physical box; visible material such as safety signs (for example no smoking where flammables are stored), bulletin boards carrying current safe work policies and procedures, news, paramedic contacts, fire emergency instructions and upcoming training, and posters such as those explaining the right PPE; face-to-face regular meetings on how to do the work safely, short toolbox talks on the task in hand and formal or informal individual meetings; and an intranet OSH page with updates, documents, calendars and links and an internal forum open to all workers. Internal OSH communication also reaches outside contractors, service providers and visitors, and the facility documents OSH communications such as newsletters and decisions of major meetings within its documentation system. Applies at the intermediate and highest levels (not required at the lowest level).
