Members and firms must keep their professional competence and see that services are delivered by competent people with the needed expertise. Example behaviours: taking only work within their knowledge, skills and resources; supervising employees and ensuring they are equipped for their tasks; checking subcontractors' competence; reflecting on completed work and its impact and applying the lessons; members identifying development needs, planning and completing CPD and being able to show it, with firms supporting staff development and checking CPD compliance; and keeping up to date with and complying with legislation, codes of practice and professional and technical standards, which firms ensure their people do too.
