Adherence to the supply chain policy must be written into supplier contracts or agreements in a form that can be applied and monitored; the facility must require suppliers to screen their own suppliers (including ownership stakes against sanctions lists), avoid cash transactions or support them with verifiable records, seek long-term supplier relationships, consider building supplier capacity, and support EITI principles (reporting only where the country implements EITI). For red-flagged suppliers it must contractually require traders and exporters to prove tax payments, origin and import and export details, and share due diligence information with downstream purchasers, auditors and institutionalised mechanisms, respecting confidentiality.
