Principles for Doing Business at Lloyd's P13.3: 13.3 Psychological safety to speak up, diverse perspectives and continuous improvement

Psychological safety encourages speaking up, access to diverse perspectives and continuous improvement. Baseline: policies and processes for speaking up (grievance, whistleblowing, health and safety) with training; tools for reporting issues that employees know and trust; channels to share ideas (surveys, forums); speaking up positioned as part of a healthy culture with disagreement safe and concerns acted on. Higher levels add training on communication and psychological safety, monitoring of reporting tools for adverse patterns by demographic, a healthy approach to mistakes, leaders modelling curiosity, and diverse voices in product and board decisions.
