On top of 6.1, the designer questions the standards and prescriptive requirements that bear on whole life carbon; works the cuts it finds into the design; runs governance under clause 4 that favours such cuts; meets the owner's targets and pushes back where they could be tighter; where the owner has set none, sets its own in line with net zero at network or system level as far as it can; quantifies the whole life carbon of design options in a way consistent with clause 7; can show the hierarchy was followed, including how it looked at reusing materials, choosing lower-carbon ones, specifying efficient or renewable energy and otherwise using fewer resources; can show it looked at how adaptable the asset will be and how its materials can be recovered; and puts carbon-cutting proposals to the owner or to other members, backed by the gains the process is expected to bring.
The graph holds this control, the 0 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
