For the employer's own vehicles that are unlicensed for, or not normally driven on, public roads (powered industrial trucks, earthmoving equipment and off-road devices excepted), the employer requires drivers to look in the direction of travel with a clear view or be guided by someone who has one, to slow or stop at intersections and keep out of marked pedestrian lanes, never to approach someone standing against a fixed object, and to control towed or pushed vehicles manually unless a towbar is used; protects employees from hazardous loads by forbidding loading beyond rated capacity, requiring loads to be stabilised and secured and keeping employees out from under elevated loads; and ensures working wipers and defrosters, no vision-impairing broken glass, outside mirrors on both sides when the interior mirror is obstructed, brakes effective when fully loaded with a parking brake that holds on any slope worked, and the rule's remaining equipment, towing and maintenance requirements.
