A kit home supply contract must be in writing, dated and signed by or for each party, and state the parties' names, a sufficient description of the kit home, any plans and specifications, the contract price if known, and a conspicuous statement of the s 16DBA cooling-off period. It must meet any regulation requirements; a known price goes prominently on the first page, and where the price is unknown or variable a warning and explanation sit next to it. Contracting without meeting ss 16D and 16DE is an offence (s 16DA; 80 penalty units for a corporation, 40 otherwise).
