NSW Food Regulation 2025
Part 2: food safety supervisor certificates and approved training organisations (sections 8 to 22) – NSW Food Regulation 2025

NSW Food Regulation 2025 17: Hold Food Authority approval before training or assessing anyone for a food safety supervisor certificate; apply in the approved form with the 100 dollar application and 1,200 dollar approval fees, and renew each year

What does 17 require?

A registered training organisation (registered under the Commonwealth national VET regulator law) may deliver training or assessment leading to a food safety supervisor certificate only once the Food Authority has approved it to do so. It applies in the approved form, supplying what the Authority asks for, a 100 dollar application fee and a 1,200 dollar approval fee (refunded if refused). The Authority grants, with or without conditions, or refuses with written reasons. Approval runs 12 months, has no effect while suspended, and is renewed by the same process without the application fee.
