Stakeholders should balance the likelihood of electrical failure against its consequences for each site. Designers, stakeholders and the Group should understand and accept how the system is meant to work, its limits and how it can fail, and put contingency arrangements in place where failure risks are not mitigated by the electrical system itself. Under the CDM Regulations designers should make sure designs can be maintained safely, remove or reduce foreseeable risks to maintenance staff, and allow maintenance with minimum disruption to supply.
