Malaysia National Guidelines on AI Governance and Ethics (2024) C3.5-3.6: Sector players: test, assess and certify AI with recognised toolkits, and apply critical thinking to avoid pitfalls

What does C3.5-3.6 require?

Sector players should test and assess their AI systems against the seven principles using available toolkits (the Guidelines name examples for fairness and bias detection, model validation, explainability and operational monitoring) and pursue certification where available, and should apply critical thinking when considering AI: weigh whether AI is the right solution for the need, its effect on people, the environment and society, the workforce and cultural shift involved, and the lessons for future projects.
