Personal searches of workers are prohibited except where indispensable to protect company assets, given the nature of the work tools, raw materials or products. In those cases searches may be made only at the exit from the workplace, safeguarding the worker's dignity and privacy, and using automatic selection systems applied to the workforce as a whole or to groups of workers. Violation is a criminal offence under art. 38.
