ISO/IEC 22989:2022 6.2.4: Verification and validation: test with separate representative data, accept, review risk

What does 6.2.4 require?

The stage checks that the developed system works to requirements and meets objectives. Software and hardware are tested for functionality and bugs, integration is tested, and performance (response time, delay and other characteristics) is checked against requirements. Verifying that the AI capabilities behave as designed needs test data that is acquired, prepared and kept separate from any data used in design and development, and that represents the input the system will process. Stakeholders then accept the system as functionally complete, of acceptable quality and ready for deployment, and organisations should review the results of verification, testing and validation for events and conditions that lead to risk, per the risk treatment plan.
