ISO/IEC 17025:2017 - General Requirements for Testing and Calibration 7.3: Sampling

What does 7.3 require?

Where substances, materials or products are sampled for later testing or calibration, have a sampling plan and method that deal with the factors that must be controlled to get valid results, that are available where sampling takes place, and that rest on suitable statistical methods whenever this is reasonable. The method shall describe how samples or sites are chosen, the sampling plan, and how samples are prepared and treated to obtain the item that will then be tested or calibrated. Keep sampling records giving the reference to the method used, the date and time, how the sample is identified, who sampled, the equipment used, environmental or transport conditions, diagrams of the location where suitable, and any departure from the method or plan.
