ISO 50001:2018 - Energy Management Systems 8.3: Procurement

What does 8.3 require?

When buying products, equipment and services that use energy and are expected to affect energy performance significantly, set and apply criteria for judging their energy performance across the operating life planned or expected for them. When buying products, equipment and services that affect SEUs, or may do so, tell suppliers that energy performance forms part of how their offer will be evaluated. Where applicable, set and communicate specifications that secure the energy performance of the equipment and services bought, and specifications for buying energy.
