The organization shall set water efficiency targets, as part of its objectives or in addition to them, for the relevant functions, levels, processes or facilities, each with a date by which it is to be met. When setting and reviewing objectives and targets, it shall take account of legal and other requirements covering water use, efficiency, the discharge of wastewater and control of pollution; of the opportunities for improvement found by the water use review; and of its financial, operating and business situation, the technology available for water used in processes, and general and hygiene considerations. It shall set up and maintain action plans for meeting the targets, and carry them out; the plans shall state who is responsible and the means and timescale for each target, how the improvement will be verified, and how the results will be checked. Action plans shall be kept as documented information and brought up to date at defined intervals.
