At planned intervals the organization shall carry out internal audits that tell it whether the FM system meets both its own requirements and those of this document, and whether the system is effectively implemented and maintained. It shall plan, set up, run and maintain an audit programme (setting how often audits happen, the methods, who is responsible, how audits are planned and how they are reported) that reflects how important the processes involved are and what earlier audits found; set the criteria and scope of every audit; choose auditors and conduct audits so that objectivity and impartiality are secured; make sure relevant management receives the results; and keep documented information showing that the programme was implemented and what the audits found.
