ISO 30414:2025
Clause 4.1 to 4.3: HCRD process, guiding principles and stakeholders – ISO 30414:2025

ISO 30414:2025 4.2: Guiding principles

What does 4.2 require?

Every HCRD area, metric and disclosure is expected to be strategic (aligned with strategy and values), ethical (fairness, transparency and equal opportunity, trust-building with workers, stakeholders, social partners and society), evidence-based (valid, impactful, data-driven metrics with due diligence), material (omission would change the decisions of the intended audience), quantified (numerical values for objectivity and comparability), qualified (risks or opportunities articulated by context and materiality), aligned (consistent with the operating model and external context, proportionate on cost and benefit), practical (realistic expectations), proportional (SME resource limits acknowledged), comparable (common benchmarks, trends and synchronized time periods), transparent (clear, objective reporting of risks or opportunities) and compliant (data protection and human rights first when collecting, using or disclosing workers' information). Good practice in information exchange and consultation with workforce representatives should be upheld during HCRD and related changes (ISO 45001:2018, 5.4).
