The laboratory shall make sure it has identified the risks from emergencies and other situations that could restrict or stop its work, and that it has a coordinated set of plans, procedures and technical measures so work can carry on after a disruption. Plans shall be tested at intervals and, where practicable, the ability to respond shall be rehearsed. The laboratory shall also: set up a planned response to emergencies that takes account of what its personnel need and can do; give relevant information and training; respond when an actual emergency happens; and take steps, proportionate to the emergency, to prevent or reduce its consequences.
