The verifier or validator shall communicate requests for clarification, material misstatements and nonconformities to the responsible party as soon as practicable, including the need for any material adjustment; if the responsible party does not respond appropriately in a reasonable period, inform the client if different; if the client does not respond, issue a modified or adverse opinion or withdraw; non-material misstatements should also be communicated.
