Clause 7.8: Procurement processes – ISO 10006:2017

ISO 10006:2017 7.8.2: Procurement planning and control

What does 7.8.2 require?

A procurement plan should identify and schedule what products or services are to be acquired, noting their requirements for specification, time and cost. Every product or service entering the project should get the same level of procurement control whether it comes from an external provider or from the originating organization in-house; external items normally come by contract, in-house ones through internal acquisition processes and controls, for which some controls may be simplified. Procurement planning should let the project organization manage its interfaces and interactions with outside providers. Enough time should be allowed to complete procurement activities, and past experience of provider performance used to plan for likely problems such as items with long delivery times. For adequate control, the project organization should review procurement progress regularly against the procurement plan and act where needed, feeding the review results into progress evaluations.
