Reaching project objectives requires the project processes to be managed inside a quality management system. Where the project organization works within the originating organization, the project's system should match the originating organization's system as closely as it can. Where some or all of the project organization lies outside the performing organization, it may be necessary to specify requirements for the quality management system so that project processes can interface properly. The project organization should define and control the documented information it needs and produces to plan, implement and control the project effectively (see ISO 9001:2015 clause 7.5).
