Ireland Guidelines for the Responsible Use of AI in the Public Service (2025) 4.4c: Tell people when they are dealing with AI or AI-assisted outputs and offer alternative service options

What does 4.4c require?

Users are told plainly whenever an AI system, such as a chatbot, AI agent or automated decision-maker, is the thing they are dealing with, or when outputs were developed with the aid of AI, so that engagement is informed; alternative service options are provided where appropriate, and complex queries can be redirected to a person.
