Management reviews judge whether the system's overall strategy achieves its planned performance objectives; whether the system meets the needs of the organisation and its stakeholders, workers and regulators included; whether the system, its policy or its objectives need changing; what must be done, promptly, to fix deficiencies, including adjustments elsewhere in the management structure and in performance measurement; what direction and priorities should steer planning and continual improvement; how far the objectives and corrective actions have progressed; and whether follow-up from earlier reviews worked. The employer or most senior accountable person fixes how often and how widely the periodic reviews run, according to the organisation's needs and conditions. Reviews draw on investigation results, performance monitoring and measurement, and audits, and on other internal and external inputs and changes, organisational change included, that could affect the system. Findings are recorded and formally passed to the people responsible for the relevant elements so they can act, and to the safety and health committee, workers and their representatives.
