Clause 12: Presenting published terms in age appropriate formats – IEEE 2089-2021 Age Appropriate Digital Services Framework

IEEE 2089-2021 Age Appropriate Digital Services Framework 12.3a.2-3: Provide multiple formats and test them with children

What does 12.3a.2-3 require?

The project shall provide multiple formats, consulting children on the most appropriate ones (cartoons, video, audio, pictures, subtitles and others, including formats that children wrote, presented or co-created), offering more than a single format so that children of differing ages and contexts are served, and offering by default formats that children of every need can access. It shall test the draft terms with children of diverse backgrounds, across diverse scenarios and in every format, then iterate and retest until the terms match what children think and need, and go on matching it.
