Annex A is used with 7.4. Table A.1 lists the faults and failures that diagnostic techniques must detect, or that must be analysed when deriving safe failure fraction, to reach low, medium or high diagnostic coverage (taken as 60 %, 90 % and 99 %); Tables A.2 to A.14 set out recommended diagnostic techniques for electrical and electronic components, processing units, invariable and variable memory, I/O and interfaces, internal data paths, power supply, program sequence, clock, communication and mass storage, sensors and final elements, and cap the coverage each can claim. Other techniques may be used if evidence supports the claimed coverage. Tables A.15 to A.17 set out, per SIL, measures to control systematic failures from hardware design, environmental stresses and operational failures, graded for effectiveness by Table A.18. Applying the annex does not by itself guarantee integrity: the chosen measures must be consistent and fit the specific system.
This control maps to 1 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.
Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
The graph holds this control, the 1 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
