Members are released from work without loss of pay as far as needed to do their council work properly, having regard to how large the establishment is and what it does. Council work that for operational reasons must be done outside working time (including where members work different hours) is compensated by paid time off within a month, or if that is impossible for operational reasons, paid like overtime.
