A public body may process data for a purpose other than that of collection where needed for its tasks and the data subject's interest is evident and consent can be presumed, information supplied must be checked because it is likely wrong, processing averts serious damage to the general good or dangers to public security, to defence or to national security, or secures tax and customs revenue, it serves prosecution of offences or enforcement of penalties or fines, it prevents serious harm to another person's rights, or it serves supervision, audits, organisational analyses or training and examinations (the last only where the data subject's legitimate interests do not conflict). Special categories additionally need a GDPR Art. 9(2) or s 22 exception.
