A manufacturer may appoint an authorised representative in writing; the representative performs the duties delegated to it on the manufacturer's behalf and must at least be entrusted with keeping the declaration and technical documentation for the authority for five years, giving the authority the information and documents it requests, and cooperating on measures to restore conformity. The design and manufacturing duty and the drawing up of the technical documentation cannot be delegated.
