A conformity assessment body applies for notification to the notifying authority of its home Member State, describing the activities, modules and products for which it claims competence and enclosing an accreditation certificate from a national accreditation body attesting Article 21 compliance, or, without one, all documentary evidence needed to verify, recognise and regularly monitor that compliance. Notification takes effect only if neither the Commission nor other Member States object within two weeks (with accreditation) or two months (without).
