Chapter III: FIU powers that bind obliged entities – EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive (Directive (EU) 2024/1640)

EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive (Directive (EU) 2024/1640) 21-OE: Give the FIU the information it requests, including transfer of funds and crypto-asset transfer data

What does 21-OE require?

FIUs must have immediate and direct access to financial information kept by obliged entities, including information on transfers of funds and transfers of crypto-assets under Regulation (EU) 2023/1113, alongside the other financial, administrative and law enforcement sources the Directive lists. Obliged entities must therefore be able to answer FIU information requests completely and promptly through the channels the FIU sets.
