EN 301 549 - Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services 5.1.3: 5.1.3 Non-visual access

Sixteen requirements for closed functions: 5.1.3.1 at least one non-visual mode (speech or braille) wherever visual information is needed; 5.1.3.2 audio delivered by a built-in mechanism or a personal headset on a 3.5 mm jack or industry-standard connection, attachable without sight; 5.1.3.3 (recommendation) audio that lets the user correlate what is heard with what is on screen; 5.1.3.4 speech that the user can interrupt and repeat where security allows; 5.1.3.5 speech that stops when the user acts or new speech starts; 5.1.3.6 spoken text alternatives for non-text content other than decoration, following WCAG 2.1 SC 1.1.1 on text alternatives; 5.1.3.7 speech equivalent of pre-recorded video needed for use; 5.1.3.8 masked characters not spoken aloud unless output is private or the user chooses; 5.1.3.9 private data spoken only through a private listening mechanism or one the user picks; 5.1.3.10 no competing automatic sound lasting over 3 seconds; 5.1.3.11 non-visual volume control for private listening; 5.1.3.12 non-visual incremental speaker volume up to at least 65 dBA; 5.1.3.13 volume reset to 65 dBA or less after each use unless single-user; 5.1.3.14 speech in the language of the displayed content, with four listed exceptions; 5.1.3.15 spoken identification and description of detected input errors; 5.1.3.16 spoken output of all information needed to complete or verify a self-service transaction, printed itineraries and maps excepted.
