Where footage is kept beyond live viewing, the controller must erase personal data on request without undue delay if an Article 17(1) ground applies and no Article 17(3) exception does, including when footage is no longer needed or processing is unlawful, on withdrawal of consent, on a successful objection, or on objection to direct marketing. If footage was made public, reasonable steps must be taken to inform other controllers, and recipients should be notified under Article 19. Irreversible blurring counts as erasure.
