Clause 5.4: Design and configuration – ECSS-E-ST-10C System Engineering General Requirements (2009 edition)

ECSS-E-ST-10C System Engineering General Requirements (2009 edition) 5.4.1.1: Establish a whole-life system design from architecture, allocation and technology

What does 5.4.1.1 require?

Under this clause the supplier builds the system design out of the functional architecture, the requirement allocation and the technology choices, so that it addresses the system across its whole life cycle, documents the physical architecture in the design definition file and the product tree, takes account of what design and verification at the lower levels have shown, covers hardware, software and the human in the loop, backs the design with analyses matched to its maturity, and keeps every point of contact with the production organisation supported by communication and timely inputs.
