No U.S. person may furnish, or knowingly agree to furnish, information about its own or any other person's past, present or proposed business relationships (of any kind) with or in a boycotted country, with its business concerns, nationals or residents, or with any person known or believed to be restricted from doing business with or in a boycotting country, whether requested directly or indirectly or volunteered. Normal business information in a commercial context (financial fitness, technical competence, professional experience, public documents such as annual reports) may be furnished, but no information about such relationships may be furnished in response to a boycott request, even if public, and requests from a boycott office are presumed boycott-based. The prohibition applies only to a U.S. person's activities in U.S. interstate or foreign commerce and only when taken with intent to comply with, further or support an unsanctioned foreign boycott (a boycott being at least one reason for the action).
