EAR - Export Administration Regulations 742.7: Crime control and detection (CC)

What does 742.7 require?

Crime control and detection equipment, software and technology (short-barrel shotguns and parts, 0A504 optics, 0A505.b shells, restraint devices, police equipment, fingerprint computers, police-model infrared viewers and others listed) need a licence to CC Column 1 countries; longer shotguns to CC Column 2 countries, or to CC Column 3 countries when sold to police or law enforcement; execution equipment (0A981) to all destinations; and 0A982, 0A503 and 0E982 items to all destinations except Canada. Applications are generally favourable case by case unless there is civil disorder or a risk of human rights violations, and other licensed items are reviewed the same way where the recipient could use them to abuse human rights.
