EAR - Export Administration Regulations 734.10: 734.10 Patents and standards-related activity

Technology is not subject to the EAR when contained in a patent or open patent application at any patent office; a patent application prepared wholly from foreign technology sent abroad for the foreign inventor's signature; a patent application authorised for foreign filing under the Patent and Trademark Office rules (37 CFR part 5); or an application sent abroad within six months of the U.S. filing to obtain an inventor's signature. Technology or software released for a standards-related activity (developing, adopting, applying, revising or interpreting a standard, including conformity assessment) is outside the EAR only if it is EAR99, AT-only, specified cryptographic 5D002 or 5E002 items, or specified 9D515 or 9E515 items, and the standard is published or intended to be published.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 1 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
