Connecticut Rules of Professional Conduct (Connecticut Practice Book) 4.3: Dealing with unrepresented persons

What does 4.3 require?

When dealing for a client with someone who has no lawyer, or only a lawyer for part of the matter, the lawyer must not suggest being neutral, must take reasonable steps to correct any misunderstanding of the lawyer's role, and must give that person no legal advice beyond the suggestion to get counsel where the lawyer knows or should know that the person's interests conflict, or may well conflict, with the client's.
